Certified Music Therapists receive their certification from the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT).  The credential presented to successful applicants is ‘MTA.

Ethical Standards. All JB Music Therapy team members acknowledge and uphold the CAMT Code of Ethics, ensuring integrity and accountability in all clinical practices.

Fit for Work Commitment. All JBMT team members, including students and interns, must comply with our Fit for Work Policy, ensuring they are physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to provide safe, effective care.

Privacy and Security. We take your privacy seriously. JBMT uses Zoom Pro and Google Meet to provide virtual services and has signed Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with each platform to safeguard personal health information. While no online tool is ever 100% secure, our therapists follow strict confidentiality protocols to protect your information.

Confidentiality & Alberta Health Services Integration. JBMT is an approved service provider for Alberta Health Services (AHS). We follow strict confidentiality protocols aligned with AHS standards and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Supervision, Continuing Education & Competency Framework. In addition to clinical care, we offer supervision and coaching for practicing Certified Music Therapists (MTAs) seeking mentorship or support in their practice. JBMT therapists also participate in regular group supervision and continuing education throughout the year. Many pursue additional certifications in areas such as Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT), counselling, and NICU Music Therapy. All clinicians are reviewed annually through our music therapy-specific competency framework, which ensures alignment with the latest evidence and best practices. We are deeply committed to strengthening our specialized competencies to deliver the highest standard of care.
